About Sunni Dils
Sunni Dils is the owner and principal instructor/trainer at Stonecrest Farms. Sunni hails from Parkersburg, WV, where she started riding ponies at the age of three. By age 6 she was successfully competing on the “A” circuit and quickly advanced into junior’s. Her training includes a strong foundation in dressage that was developed through her work with Sibylle Viegal in her teens.
Her riding experiences have taken her to the Del Mar Showpark in California where she worked as a trainer for five years. Back in the Midwest, in 2002 she coached the Ohio University Equestrian Team to their first ever Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Miller’s Cup national title.
Her interest in teaching includes all levels of riders, from beginners to accomplished “A” circuit equestrians. She currently works with riders of all ages and levels of experience. This includes owner/riders, leasers and public lessons.
All of her students consistently place ‘in the ribbons’ whether they are beginner/intermediate riders who compete at the local level or more advanced competitors competing on the “A” circuit. This past year students competed and placed in the 2004 Pony Finals, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and the Washington International Horse show.
As a trainer, she has a wide range of experience, working with young, green horses, retraining problem horses and putting the finishing touches on show bound equines. She is currently schooling horses in the jumpers and hunter levels.
Sunni continues to support her students by setting the example as she continues to expand her repertoire of knowledge and skills. She keeps her competitor edge and knowledge current through attendance and participation in clinics as both a rider and trainer. She most recently participated in a clinic held by Olympic rider Chris Kappler.
She looks forward to working with the students, clients and horses at Stonecrest Farms.
