June has been a busy month as Stonecrest Farm. On the second Sunday in June Sunni took a group of 8 horses and riders to Red Tail Ridge Farm to school over the cross country course. Everyone had a blast galloping around in the open fields and jumping up to training level fences. The horses even jumped in and out of the water bank. Sunni is planning on taking another cross country trip in August. Sign ups are now available.
Sunni was very pleased with her riders performances at the Purina Mills Hunter Classic. All of girls earned top ribbons in their divisions. A special congratulations goes out to Johanna Rosenfield who was reserve champion of the intermediate adult hunters at her mount, King Arthur’s, very first show. Also a big congratulations to Kaitlynn Morefield who was champion of the regular pony hunter division with Gold O’Mine. We would also like to congratulate Lauren Jardine for a great preformance at her very first show in the children’s hunter division. She placed forth in the 3ft OHJA medal. Also we are pleased to announce that Anna Harbaugh and Sinatra had a great first showing in the hopeful jumpers where they earned a forth and sixth over their two jumper courses. Hilary Gerlach received top ribbons in the amatuer owner hunters at her first horse show back from her sophomore year of college. We are very pleased with the efforts of both the horses and riders and are looking forward to our next show.

Stonecrest Farm is thrilled to welcome two additions to Stonecrest Family this month. First, we would like to welcome Peter, a 9 year old Oldenburg gelding. Peter has come to Stonecrest to be in our complete training program. Peter has a year of dressage training under his belt and is now focusing on the hunters. We look forward to Peter’s first hunter show at the Purina Mills Hunter Classic, where he will be competing in the Very Green Hunters. Secondly, we are very happy to announce that Stardust has returned to Stonecrest Farm to get in shape in order to begin his medium pony hunter career. Stardust is the son of Stonecrest Farm’s Small Pony Hunter, Gold O’ Mine. We cannot wait for both Kaitlynn Morefield and Zoie Dils to begin showing Stardust this fall.
We would also like to congratulate all of riders, who earned top ribbons at the Showtime Spring Classic in May. You all did a wonderful job! Special congratulations go out to Mary Grace Palmer who placed 9th in the Otterbien Medal. Also congratulations to Kate Morrison for her reserve championship in the Children’s Hunters. Finally a big congratulation goes out to Zoie Dils who placed 3rd in a very large short stirrup equitation over fences class at her very first short stirrup horse show.
On a much sadder note Stonecrest Farm’s thoughts and prayers are with Kathy Rizzoni, who had to say goodbye to her beloved partner, Maximus. Maximus, who was known better around the barn as Nash, has moved on to greener pastures in the sky. We will miss this wonderful horse and will never forget all the happy memories we were so fortunate to share with him. RIP Nash and all of thoughts are prayers are with you, Kathy.
